French language:

We watched the news on TV5monde. Then gr6 students went to Miss Andresen's room to plant various fruit and vegetable seeds as part of the OPP Pay it forward program. Once they have sprouted and weather is favourable, we will plant them at the Meaford community gardens (date TBA). Gr7's learned about non-renewable resources and started to research how to preserve them. Then we went outside to practice jumping and throwing events for track and field.

English Language:

A few students/groups demonstrated their product prototypes for their businesses. The students began to plan their TV advertisements for their respective products. We spent some time exploring the different types of camera angles and other filming techniques employed in advertisement media. The students got to try out some of these techniques on iMovie which they will be using to create their commercials.

Math:

Today we explored how to use input/output tables with algebraic expressions. We worked through one word problem as a class and then the students had to apply their learning to another independently. I sent home an algebra math package to reinforce some of the basic algebraic concepts.

Homework:

1) Algebra package (Due Friday)
2) Continue to develop product prototype
3) Secure business loan from trusted adult (get the loan document signed).
