Today was a switch day; we followed Friday's schedule.

French language:
In art students learned how to sketch and water colour an asymmetrical landscape. This is where one side is bigger than the other, giving the illusion that the bigger side is closer. They also learned to use darker colours in the foreground and lighter ones farther away. While students were painting, I reviewed geometry homework from yesterday with each gr6 student and assigned more. It is due tomorrow.

Math:
We continued to work out of the textbook on fractions. The grade 6's compared and ordered improper fractions and mixed numbers, while the grade 7's learned how to subtract fractions, as well as improper fractions, and mixed numbers. The students can expect some practice worksheets for homework this weekend and a test on fractions next week (Wednesday).

English Language:
We read chapter 19 of The Giver, and we discussed the significance of what appears to be the climactic moment of the novel.

Tomorrow is moustache day! Bring a quarter for the quarter drive and sport your best 'stache!
