French language/social studies/history:
We spent the morning in the lab. Gr6's are finished their First Nation treaties research and have started to write the causes and effects on the timeline. Gr7's finished translating the roles in preparation for the debate.

Geometry:
Gr6's learned how to use a compass to accurately make triangles and use a protractor to make sure the angles added to 180 degrees. Gr7's continued to solve missing angles. Homework for both groups due tomorrow. There will be a geometry test on Tues, Dec 1. I will post the test summaries in Pages.

Math:
The grade 6's worked on solving problems from the textbook involving improper fractions and mixed numbers. The grade 7's continued to develop strategies for adding fractions (ie. finding the lowest common denominator, multiplying/dividing top and bottom, simplifying to lowest terms).

English Language:
We are nearing the climactic finish of The Giver. We read chapter 19 and had some stimulating discussion. Next, we did a shared reading of the classic short story, "A Tell Tale Heart," by Edgar Allen Poe.
