Wednesday

We had a great day today, in spite of a rather warm and sticky classroom.  I guess we should enjoy it while it lasts!

The students had Mrs. Clarence in as a supply teacher for Mrs. McCurdy. I was very proud with how welcoming and helpful everyone was in the class. Well done!

In Math, the students worked in groups on a patterning word problem (click here to see it). They demonstrated excellent focus and commendable work habits. I look forward to having them share all of their solutions.

For English language, we continued reading The Giver. The students have been generating lots of good discussion and making several interesting predictions. We also set up out our personal dictionaries which students will fill with new and useful terms and vocabulary over the course of the year. Finally, we logged in to the computer lab for the first time this year (an arduous enough task in itself, believe it or not).

I will be away all day Friday, but Mr. Schorer will be at school in my stead, so it should be a great day.   -SE
