In History, I worked with gr6's to start our unit on First Nations. We brainstormed why we are studying First Nations, looked at how First Nations groups were divided by language, and created maps of First Nations groups. They need to have a good understanding of First Nation history so we can compare it to First Nations today. Gr7's worked independently to learn how New France/Quebec began. EM

In Science, gr6's worked in groups to classify creepy critters from outer space. I worked with gr7's on landfill ecosystems. They learned what goes into landfills and how 75% can be recycled or composted. Pens, razors, diapers, water bottles, plastic bags, junk mail contribute to the remaining 25%.
