French language:
This morning gr6's continued to learn about tourism connects us to the world and catch up on previous social studies work. The gr7's continued to work on climate graphs and what influences climate (this is for homework). In gym, students played different versions of dodgeball. We will be starting track and field outside tomorrow. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately.

Math:
This afternoon, the grade 7's worked on some review problems involving surface are and volume. The grade 6's had a lesson on comparing and converting between the standard units of measurement for volume/capacity (cm3, m3/mL, L). They then applied their learning to some questions from the textbook.
English Language:
For the first part of the language period, we worked on developing the following skill for formulating short-answer responses: Incorporate textual evidence directly into your sentence structure using punctuation marks or paraphrasing. The students then read a short biographical passage on Gordon Lightfoot and then formulated responses to short-answer comprehension questions, using the skill described above.
We went down to the lab for the second part of the language block to work on persuasive essays. Unfortunately, the network happened to be down so the students were not able to be as productive as hoped.

2) Persuasive Essay - Due Wednesday, April 20th (at the end of the day)
