Because we have two Fridays schedules in a row, we lose tomorrow afternoon's science/math block. As a result, gr7's had science and gr6's had math this morning. Gr7's completed a lab to separate mixtures and learned about waste water treatment plants. I am still waiting for previous labs to be handed in... Gr6's finished building and drawing isometric views of 3D shapes. They even completed the practice test. Science and math tests will be Tuesday, May 3.

The students took part in the Earth Day hike this afternoon, which took place during middle block.
Math:
We spent the first part of our math period reviewing various 2-dimensional representations of 3-dimensional shapes (top view, front view, side view, mat view). The students then returned to their Apartment Architect challenge.
English Language:
With a view to augmenting the variety and clarity of sentence structure in the students' written work, we spent some time on the proper use of colons, semi-colons and other punctuation.
Homework:
Finish off the punctuation worksheet on semicolons.
