Mrs. McCurdy was away today. The students had a supply teacher for the first part of the day.

English Language:

We had a final wrap-up discussion of Lord of the Flies. We explored the meaning of the novel's ending, imagined some other possible ending/epilogues, and a few students shared their personal reviews of the book.

***Could all students please return their copies of the novel.

For writing, the students headed down to the computer lab to start typing up the first draft of their persuasive essays. Just a reminder that all students need to bring their persuasive writing organizers to school (if they have been working on them at home) so that can make effective use of lab time.

Math:

The students worked on finishing up the "Garden Architect" challenge from last week.

Homework: 1) Finish short review of LOTF.
                      2) Work on persuasive essay organizer (but make sure it comes back to school).
