Congratulations to our grade 7 senior science fair students! I am so proud of the effort, dedication, and enthusiasm that you displayed yesterday. Carter won a bronze metal for his project comparing the energy of different light bulbs. Autumn and Zoe won silver metals for projects on biodegradable ink and edible water bottles, respectively. Zoe also won the Naturalist award and $50!
Congratulations to our Concours participants! Mr. Harding said competition was tough this year and there were a lot of competitors. Mia Tullio placed 2nd in her Core French category! We are looking forward to competing in the junior science fair on Wednesday, April 13. I gave out permission forms.
We will acknowledge and congratulate our science fair and Concours participants during the next arts assembly on Friday, April 29 from 2-3pm.
French language:
While gr6's attended OPP Kids, the gr7's read about the earth's atmosphere and responded to questions. This completes the 4th theme of geography, the environment. They also started to read about the last theme, interaction. In gym, we played badminton.
Science:
Gr7's discussed their experience at yesterday's science fair. This information was very useful for the gr6's as I was not part of the judging component. Gr6's read about the history and characteristics of electricity and responded to questions. Gr7's read about solubility, saturation, and concentration. We will conduct experiments related to these topics next time.
