French language:

This morning we learned passe compose verbs. I gave a package that students are to review and complete for Tuesday, February 16. I read chapter 5 of Jean Baptiste, coureur de bois, with gr6's while the gr7's read La Valise d'Hana.

Math:

The grade 6's worked learned 2 strategies for multiplying whole numbers by decimals. They went on to do some independent practice from the textbook. The grade 7's finished working on the package of problems involving order of operations. We then took a first look at formulating algebraic expressions using variables.

English Language:

The students wrote the content quiz for chapter 7 of LOTF. Then, to help generate ideas for their upcoming persuasive writing piece, they watched and discussed a video on survival in a tropic island scenario.

Homework:

- Chapter 6 Quickwrite is due on Friday (topics can be found in Monday's post)
- Read chapter 8 of LOTF for Wednesday (Monday is Family Day)
