Due to rain in the Friday forecast, we are having MCS Carnaval this Thursday, February 18, from 12-3pm.
This morning students presented their Carnaval activities. We also discussed materials needs. We will have a dry run of the activities tomorrow morning so please be prepared.
Science:
We started our new gr6 and 7 units, electricity and matter, pure substances & mixtures, respectively. Gr6's read how important electricity is in our daily living and played with electricity kits. Using a battery, students used alligator clips to light a bulb, spin a propeller, operate a device using a switch, power a buzzer, light two bulbs at once, and control two devices with a switch. Gr7's learned about matter, types of matter, the Particle Theory, pure substances, and mixtures. They can start to think about how they are going to act out the Particle Theory...
