Gr6's learned about Bernouille's principle (ask your child to explain:) and completed experiments blowing paper and pingpong balls to prove it. Gr7's completed another experiment to understand force and magnitude and learned about earthquakes. In gym students did dribbling drills and played a game of basketball.
French language:
We sent the afternoon in the computer lab. I divided the gr6's into two groups, one group to research the causes and effects of residential schools from the perspective of the 1st nations and the other group to research the causes and effects of residential schools from the perspective of the government. The debate will be Tuesday, January 12. Gr7's continued to research significant events from 1715-1850. The presentation date to be negotiated:)
We also discussed participating in science fair and concours, the French public speaking contest. We talked about what makes a successful science fair project (think of a need and find a solution, inventions to reduce our carbon footprint always win) and Concours (interesting and passion). These topics are due Tuesday, January 12.
