Mme. McCurdy was away today. The students had Mr. Frank as a supply.

Math:

Our math block was partially interrupted by an off-site code red drill.The students did some review and practice for the algebra quiz. They went on to write the quiz after the break. 

English Language:

We read a current events news article on the Fort McMurray wildfire disaster. The students are to write a short opinion paragraph on the following topic:

The wildfire spread incredibly quickly and people had to leave their homes with little warning. They often only had a few minutes to pack a couple belongings before they left.
If you were in their situation, what precious few belongings would you make sure you took with you? Why did you choose these items?

Students will share their paragraphs on Monday.
