French language:

This morning we watched TV5monde, a French daily news series. Content is challenging so we had to make frequent pauses for explanations. Gr7's finished the science test with great results! While gr6's researched their humanitarian organizations on iPads, the gr7's orally read two more chapters of La Valise d'Hana. While gr6's researched the Hoover Dam on iPads, the gr6's orally read chapter 12.

Math:

The students learned how to determine the value of the percentage of a given number (ie. find 40% of 144) using a variety of strategies including estimation, halving, and of course, converting to decimal and multiplying. They then worked on some problems that utilized these skills (which is to be finished for homework).

English Language:

The students started taking the preliminary steps in their 'real business project.' They organized themselves into pairs (or decided to go solo) and came up with a viable idea for their product(s). Parents, please stay tuned for more information on this project. Be warned that you may be approached and propositioned for a 'small' business loan from your child. More to follow.
