French language:

Gr7's wrote their science tests. Gr6's presented their First Nation "revendications". We were not able to finish so we will continue on Wednesday.

Math:

The grade 6's wrote a quiz on comparing, ordering, rounding, adding and subtracting decimals, as well as multiplying and dividing decimals by 10, 100, 1000, and 10 000. The grade 7's continued to work on simplifying and solving statements using order of operations (BEDMAS).

English Language:

Today the students discussed symbols and explored the use of symbolism in literature. As a class we identified 8 symbols from Lord of the Flies (the conch, the glasses, the fire, the knife, the scar, the island, the beast, and adults). Using the iPads and a graphic organizer, the students researched each of these symbols and recorded the abstract ideas that each one is meant to represent in the novel.

Homework:

- Read chapter 6 of LOTF for Wednesday, Feb. 3rd.
- Complete the "Symbolism" graphic organizer
